Welcome to my world of movement...
I'm Maddie, a registered yoga instructor and EFL teacher! After completing my yoga teacher training in 2023, I travelled to India and had some pretty life changing experiences. Funnily enough, it sparked a move away from just yoga, a deep and ancient indigenous practice, to a more well-rounded approach to movement. What hasn't changed is my desire to inspire and encourage others to move their body in playful and curious ways, helping you to find your own strength and balance...
My Journey
I found yoga at the end of 2019, just before covid. I had a really unhealthy relationship to exercise at the time and just used it as a way to stretch after high intensity workouts. I actually found the slow paced, mindful aspect of the practice irritating, and spent most of my time trying to get out of the poses and out of my own head.

After a long time struggling with my mental heath, I had a breakthrough with my yoga practice. My online instructor ended the class in savasana, and said:
"thank your body for everything it has done for you"
​
Such a simple phrase, and yet it started my journey towards no longer punishing my body with movement. To strengthen it, enable it to move through the world with ease, to thank it. I realised I treated myself and my body with no kindness, even after all it did to carry me through the world.

I flowed at home for the first couple of years, experimenting and messing around with an imperfect practice, getting to know my body and what I enjoyed. And after enough time exploring it myself, I completed my YTT to give me the ability to lead others through what had so profoundly changed me.
Mission
